Stone Circles

Stone Circles date from the Bronze age and these ancient monuments are usually associated with druidical ritual and are often referred to as a Druid circle. They are mostly found in the South of Ireland and in particular Kerry and West Cork. Research indicates that these stone circles were part of an ancient calendar based on lunar and solar cycles. It is now accepted that the builders of these ancient relics were masters of both geometry and astronomy. Excerpt from “The Great Book of Kerry”
